Keep Your Car Maintained with Lute Riley Honda as the Weather Warms Up

Spring has sprung, folks, and that means it's time to get your vehicle set for the warmer season! Changing weather means changing temperatures, and changing temperatures means your vehicle deserves a little tune-up, and we here at Lute Riley Honda have some great tips on Spring maintenance to make your life on the road all the easier.

Spring Maintenance Tips for Your Vehicle

  • Check alignment and suspension. Driving over potholes and large cracks in the road can lead to damaged alignment and suspension. If your vehicle is consistently pulling to one side or the other, or your steering wheel vibrates while you drive, then this is something to consider.
  • Change your oil and check fluid levels. Clean oil means a healthy and efficient engine, which should be changed once every 3,000 to 5,000 miles, and spring is a great time to flush your transmission fluid as well. Don't forget to check your wiper, brake, and cooling system fluids as well.
  • Rotate your tires and check the air pressure. Your tires will wear down more evenly, and therefore last longer, if you get them rotated ever 5,000 miles. And make sure you have the proper air pressure in them as well to ensure optimal fuel efficiency and performance.
  • Get your brakes inspected! It takes a lot of parts to get your vehicle moving but, to stop, it pretty much all relies on your brakes. Nothing is more important than your safety and the safety of those around you, and a good set of functioning brakes might just be the most crucial part of a safe drive.
