2020 Honda Civic vs 2020 Toyota Corolla
Serving Richardson, TX
For many decades, local drivers have been debating between buying the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla. These are both established models from respected brands, so you may now be wondering which of these compact car models is a better buy. By exploring their similarities and differences, you can make a smart selection for your next purchase.
Exterior
With a first look at the exterior designs of these cars, their differences become noticeable. The 2020 Honda Civic shows off beautiful contours that angle across the sides. The lowered ground clearance combines with these contours to create a sporty element from the side view, and this look is elevated from the front view. The black grille has thick, horizontal bars that curve up into the headlights. If you choose to drive the Civic, your car's exterior may also feature a power moonroof, LED daytime running lights, foglamps, up to 18-inch wheels, and other items. The 2020 Toyota Corolla has crisper personality lines across the sides, and the angles on the hood and roof are flatter. The front end has scythe-like headlights that are connected by a small black piece. Below this, a prominent grille with a black finish juts out and wraps around the front end.
Interior
The interior of the 2020 Honda Civic is stunning, and the most prominent feature in the car is the center stack. Across the center stack and console, metallic accent pieces define and decorate the space. A color display screen sits at an angle to provide the driver with access to the car's Bluetooth technologies, sound system, smart device connections, and other technologies. Throughout the interior, the Civic also has a push-button ignition, dynamic guidelines with the rearview monitor, a heated steering wheel, cloth or leather material, and other items. The 2020 Toyota Corolla, on the other hand, has a rising center console that remains disconnected from the center stack and dashboard. The color display screen in the center of the dash sits in a small outcropping with the climate control features, sound system controls, and a few other items.
Performance
Both of these compact cars are available with several different powertrains across their trim line. For the 2020 Civic, the entry-level powertrain is a 4-cylinder design that produces 158 horsepower. A turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is standard in higher trim levels, and it gives you 174 horsepower. In the 2020 Toyota Corolla, a 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder engine is the base option. Depending on the equipment that it is paired with, it produces either 121 or 139 horsepower. A 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine is included in the higher trim levels, and it puts out 169 horsepower.
