When to Replace:
This depends on several factors including road conditions you usually face, your style of driving and how your tires are maintained. When the tread is work down to 1/16", tires must be replaced. Built-in tread-wear indicators, or "wear bars", which look like narrow strips of smooth rubber across the trade, will appear when it's time to replace the tire. You may want to replace your tires earlier if you drive in snow, rain, or other unpredictable condition, or if you plan on traveling over rough roads.
Visit Lute Riley Honda for more information or if you are unsure of when to replace your tires.
Choosing the Right Tire:
Tread depth, material composition, load capacity and other factors must be taken into consideration when matching a tire to your specific vehicle. This will maximize safety, performance, ride and handling.
The Proper Tires Will:
- Give you exceptional control and ride comfort
- Work in tandem with other components of your vehicle
- Increase fuel economy
Choosing a Replacement Tire Depends On:
- How much highway driving you do
- What kinds of terrain and weather you drive in
- How much weight you carry
- How many miles you drive
Visit Lute Riley Honda for recommended tire size and tread information.
Routine Maintenance:
Inspect your tires frequently. Look for stones, glass, metal or other objects wedged in the tread. These can work themselves deeper into the tire and cause air loss. If one tire continually needs more air, have it checked. Damage to the tire, wheel or valve may be the problem. Uneven wear patterns may be causes by improper inflation pressure, misalignment, improper balance or suspension neglect. If left uncorrected, further tire damage will occur. Be sure to check tire pressure when tires are cold (before the run for a mile). A tire loses one to two pounds of air per month in cool weather and more in warm weather. Under inflation is the main cause of tire failure.
