2020 Honda HR-V vs 2020 Honda CR-V

Serving Richardson, TX

In a thorough search for a beautiful crossover SUV that is loaded with features and value, you may naturally focus on the HR-V and the CR-V. These are smaller crossovers that are siblings in the current Honda line. While these models both have two rows of passenger seating, the HR-V is the smaller model. What are the other significant differences that you need to know about before picking out your next crossover?

Performance

Five trims are available for the 2020 Honda HR-V, and they all carry the same powertrain. This is a 141-horsepower, I-4 gas engine. Comparatively, the CR-V is also available with one powertrain throughout its trim line. This is a turbo I-4 gas engine that produces 190 horsepower. Their different powertrains are linked to an excellent selection of well-designed mechanical features. Shared mechanical features include anti-locking disc brakes, active noise cancellation, hill start assist, and automatic brake hold.

Appearance

Both of these crossover SUVs have athletic details and a small stance on the road. The HR-V shows off a fixed angle down the roof that ends in a liftgate spoiler. The central personality line that runs through its side panels twists upward dramatically. A sharp edge further defines the HR-V’s sporty look through the rear windshield and stunning molding over the front and rear fascia. The CR-V achieves its athletic styling through a different approach. Its side accents, roof, and hood have modest angles. The pointed shape of the side windows and the low profile combines with the CR-V’s linear flow to create a lean façade and a sense of motion.

Features

While the 2020 HR-V and the CR-V have comparable features at the higher trim levels, the equipment in their base trims differ. However, all trims for these models have assistive Honda Sensing® safety gear. Most trims in the HR-V and the CR-V also have a quality sound system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, leather material, powered seat adjustments, and several additional features.
