2021 Honda CR-V vs 2021 Honda Pilot
Serving Richardson, TX
With Honda’s stellar reputation for incorporating innovations and value into all of its vehicles, you understandably are looking at this automaker’s lineup for your next crossover purchase. The Honda CR-V and the Honda Pilot are neighbors in the 2021 lineup. However, from their price and dimensions to their functionality and capabilities, the CR-V and the Pilot are significantly different in critical areas. After you get to know all that they offer, which of these crossovers will you select?
Performance
As a compact crossover, the 2021 CR-V is an elegant yet powerful vehicle that is fun to drive. Across all four trims, the CR-V is available with a 190-horsepower, turbo I-4 engine. The top three trims are also available with a hybrid powertrain that produces 143 net horsepower. On the other hand, the 2021 Honda Pilot is a midsize crossover that offers three rows in its spacious cabin. All six of its trim levels are outfitted with the same 280-horsepower V6 gas engine.
Appearance
With similarities between the grille designs and other features for these Honda crossovers, they are related. However, the CR-V’s approach toward styling is defined by a sporty, sharp angle down the hood and chrome-on-black lower-body accents. The thin grille displays a single chrome bar that dips down on the sides as it underscores the slanted headlamps. The Pilot’s body is noticeably more extensive than the CR-V, and it has a stronger definition across the sides. While the 2021 Pilot also has chrome-on-black accents, these accents are less prominent. Also, the grille has two chrome bars that both reach toward the headlights.
Features
The majority of the features in the CR-V are also available in the Pilot at various trims. Both models come with cloth seats, a split-folding design for the rear seatbacks, and Honda Sensing® equipment. Other premium features in both Honda models for 2021 include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a navigation system, a heated steering wheel, a wireless charging platform, leather seating, a power liftgate, and numerous other features.
