2021 Honda Insight vs 2020 Honda Insight
Serving Richardson, TX
Are you debating between driving home in the 2020 Honda Insight or the new 2021 version? This compact car boasts more than two decades of history, impressing its drivers with exceptional efficiency, style, and features. The third generation of this compact car launched in 2019, so both the 2020 and 2021 model years are part of the same generation. However, the 2021 Honda Insight has a handful of thoughtful updates that you should learn about before making your selection.
Performance
This four-door compact car has the same hybrid electric motor across all trims for 2020 and 2021. Specifically, the Insight is equipped with an Atkinson-Cycle, four-cylinder, 1.5-liter gas engine paired with a battery-driven electric motor. Performance is enhanced with multiple driving modes, superior aerodynamics, deceleration selectors, and other high-level features. Other equipment includes eco assist, auto brake hold, remote engine start, and shift-by-wire tech with a continuously variable transmission.
Appearance
The Insight is available in your choice of three trims for 2020 and 2021, and they are unchanged. These trims are the LX, EX, and Touring. All trims for 2020 and 2021 have a rounded nose with angled LED headlights and a thick bar running across the grille. The wheel designs are slightly different throughout the trims, but all trims have powered side mirrors, a shark-fin antenna, LED rear lights, smart entry, and other preferred gear throughout the exterior.
Features
The most significant differences between the 2020 and 2021 Honda Insight are found in their features. Both the EX and Touring trims for 2021 add a blind-spot warning and a rear cross-traffic sensor. The 2021 Honda Insight Touring is also now outfitted with leather seats, a navigation system, and a dual-zone automatic climate management system. Across the full line for both model years, the Insight has Honda Sensing® safety features, a multi-angle rearview camera, Bluetooth tech, and more.
